I am always fascinated when I put on my own piece. It makes me feel proud and confident especially when a friend or stranger goes like “O.M.G that is so pretty. It also makes you stand out in a unique, stylish and special way. This is because your piece is not so obvious to anyone; it’s been made with keenness and creativity which is not so obvious, adding to it that stylish feel when worn.
As an accessory, bow-ties can be used to complement various types of outfits and hair do ’s depending on one’s suitability. Use it as a hair accessory to complete your look and give you that girly touch. Other than that, it can be worn on collared shirts, dresses and blouses for official, dates or cocktail dressing.
The most important thing you must note when coming up with your own piece is to look for a fabric/material that suit your desire. For you to be unique go for floral printed fabric, stripes, colorful fabrics and even African printed material e.g. the “kitenge or Ankara” gives the unique touch.
You can also make one and stick or sew it on your clutch bag just to add that unique style when going for a party or date with friends. For your weekend look, make two similar bow-ties for your plain or dull colored doll shoes.

Use your tape measure to measure your fabric to desired
inches/centimeters. Cut your fabric into a rectangular shape depending
on how big you want your bow.
C) Turn your fabric inside –out
and fold it in half lengthwise. For a neat fold use your iron box to
press onto the fabric. Sew the three sides of the rectangle and leave
about 1 inch not sewn. Through the hole turn the piece inside-out then
close with a few slip stitches. Then press the stitched sides and edges
using your iron box for a neat finishing.d) To secure the bow shape, hold the top and the bottom of your rectangular stitched fabric and push towards the centre then sew it to hold it in place. Sew a small band around the middle for a neat finishing.
